Momma’s Easy No Yeast Dinner Rolls

Hmm, yeah, no. Not so easy.

We’ve been in quarantine lock down due to covid for about two weeks. It’s April 8th. There is a panic in the news about yeast and toilet paper. I’m not sure what one has to do with the other, but there it is. Line ups at the grocery store and at Costco for hours to get in and also to get out. Limited numbers in at the stores at any one time. Only essential services are open which means, gas, food and well, I think that is pretty much it.

With the scare of potential food shortage because armageddon is coming, I decided to look on the internet to make things myself. When my husband went to get flour at the store, the shelves were empty. People were snapping up flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder because well, they had the same idea as me.

I had a little flour left over in the cupboard so thought I would check out some recipes that didn’t require yeast. Found this one. Should be easy right? I mean, five ingredients. Nothing special. Pic sure looks good. So I tried them.

Did I mention I have a bit of difficulty following directions?

I mean, with five ingredients it should be super easy. But these are how mine turned out. I don’t know what I did wrong, but this recipe was the kick off for me to figure out how to make sourdough starter.

Onward to adventures!
